23rd March 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Annual General Meeting (AGM), refreshments, an hour long presentation entitled ‘Carbon Budgets, Peak Oil Demand and Stranded Assets’ by James Leaton followed by a Q&A Session.

The Lecture is a unique opportunity to hear the research conclusions from a highly regarded organisation which won the Guardian Sustainable business Award for Innovation in Communicating Sustainability in May 2014 and May 2015. Carbon Tracker is an independent financial think tank which provides in-depth analysis on the impact of climate change on capital markets and investment in fossil fuels, mapping risk, opportunity and the route to a low carbon future. Carbon Tracker is a team of financial, energy and legal experts with a ground breaking approach to limiting future greenhouse gas emissions.

This presentation will provide a unique perspective to engineers engaged in the oil and gas sector and all with involvement in sustainable development and planning for a low carbon future. It is particularly relevant to the work of the IChemE Energy Centre.
