This book is a highly readable introduction to using nanofluids, which are projected to play a significant role in a range of energy-related applications, including the cooling of electronic systems and heat exchangers. The work provides a very practical introduction to the preparation and characterization of nanofluids.
Particular attention is given to means for producing stable nanofluids. Techniques for quantifying the stability of such nanofluids are also included, as are approaches to characterizing nanofluid properties such as thermal conductivity, viscosity and specific heat. In addition, rheological and optical properties of nanofluids are treated at some length. The practical approach is supported by methods for modeling key parameters such as the heat transfer coefficient of thermal systems that incorporate nanofluids. Review by K.
