Industrial Flooding: Protecting Critical Infrastructure

18th April @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

The increase in flooding events across the UK due to climate change has underscored the importance of ensuring critical infrastructure is protected. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicts sea level rise by 2100 could be two meters, while a recent report urges engineers to consider preparing for a rise of three meters*. Current infrastructure has often not been designed to withstand predicted increase sea levels and storm risks and so it is vital the engineering community invest in solutions for the changes in climatic conditions.

This seminar will provide insight into the impact of climate change on your critical infrastructure and how best to protect it both through retrofitting and considering future design strategies. Hear best practice from representatives across the nuclear, chemical, oil and gas and water sectors to best prepare your assets.
